The Purpose and Mission of Scholarium
Scholarium is a grassroots non-profit initiative that is addressing the growing surplus of PhDs and the erosion of the humanities in higher education and in society at large.
Scholarium provides an alternative venue for sharing specialized academic knowledge outside of the traditional university setting. We harness the knowledge and talent of a large population of PhDs, creating new channels for them to engage the public. We offer a variety of exciting courses and lectures on topics in the humanities and social sciences, that are specifically developed for a diverse audience of learners. As such, Scholarium promotes dialogue between academia and the public, providing academics with exposure outside academia, and introducing communities of learners to new ideas and recent research in academia.
