Description
Immerse yourself in the rich world of Chinese calligraphy where images, ink, and meditative movement come together. Join us for weekly meetings where you will acquire the foundations of calligraphy.
- Students will learn the basic strokes needed to write hundreds of beautiful Chinese characters
- Students will learn about the history and background of Chinese art and aesthetics, including guided studies of masterpieces in Chinese ink painting and calligraphy
- Students will acquire knowledge about the philosophical foundations of Chinese art
The instructor is a trained (non-Chinese) calligrapher and PhD in Chinese civilization with over 25 years of experience in teaching calligraphy and Chinese art history
Location: In-person at private home, Dorchester Center 4 minute walk from the Shawmut T station
Time: Tuesdays 7-9pm
The price is $45 for a two hour session
